Newborn Care - Nursery Water - Why the Buzz?

Does your little one really need nursery h2o? It really is marketed nearly as good on your baby but could it be definitely required? This "special" liquid is simply not a important factor to offer for your newborn for infant care. Infants usually do not need additional fluid within their diet for the reason that breast milk & formula have plenty of liquid in them. It can be also not wise to offer drinking water to infants simply because it does not have any calories.

This specialized kind of water is essentially sterilized drinking water with fluoride and some minerals. Infants really don't have to have fluoride until six months old and most pediatric dentists do not recommend supplemental fluoride even then. The minerals that are added to this drinking water can be obtained through breast milk and formula and boiling the h2o can be done yourself. So why does your infant need to have nursery water? They don't. Boiled filtered water or bottled drinking water with a low sodium content are just fine for your infant.

Beginning from birth:

* nursery h2o is not a necessity in your baby's diet* infants do not need excess h2o within their diet regime mainly because it does not have calories* formula does not want nursery drinking water mixed with it (see above for drinking water recommendations)* you can boil your own drinking water or buy bottled h2o to mix with formula* breast fed infants usually do not need to have supplemental flouride simply because it is bio-available (readily available) in the mother's milk* breast fed infants only have to have a supplemental vitamin called Trivisol (vitamins A,D & E) which are not present in mother's milk

So you can spend your money on something else simply because Nursery Drinking water will not be needed!
